Shaw’s Smörgåsbord – Summer 2026

St George’s Annual Art Exhibition

Broad St, Ramsgate. CT11 8QY. U.K
10/07/26 – 19/07/26. Open Daily 2pm-5pm

As part of the Architecture Restoration Project fundraiser. https://www.heritagelab.org.uk/projects/st-georges-church-project-200/

St George’s continues to celebrate and showcase its community of creatives with the return of its annual Art Exhibition.

This year’s exhibition features a wide variety of work, including several large-scale pieces displayed from the gallery balcony, alongside contemporary sculptural reliefs, stained glass, silk paintings, and mosaics.

I especially enjoyed the Pop Art Kit Kat and Full English sculptural reliefs by Penny Blaney. I was also drawn to the sincerity of Christine Hyde’s work, the strong sense of rhythm and composition in Brian Summer’s Washing Line, and the expressive, illustrative quality of Jasmine’s line work.

With such a diverse range of work on display, there may be a few pieces I’ve overlooked, so if you have some time this weekend, do come along and explore the exhibition for yourself. I’d love to hear which works stood out to you, so feel free to leave a comment with your favourites while supporting the church’s fundraiser.

The exhibition’s final day is Sunday, and it’s open from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Hi, I'm Helen, a Kent-based creative in the UK, exploring various materials and mediums through my practice and letting the work guide me. Shaw's Board is both - a Smörgåsbord collection of visual ideas— a space where inspiration flows and projects take shape- and a focus tool for refining concepts and returning to the drawing board.
